Happy Memorial Weekend! As I write this post, I'm listening to a mix cd that our friend Gabe gave to us of classical music that is supposed to be good for the little ones to listen to.  I'm trying to create baby genius's of course.  At this point, the babies can hear and can open their eyes.  They probably can't see anything because of how dark it is in there, but their eyes can open and close.  They are growing hair, and should be passing the two pound mark.  I have an ultrasound this coming week, so hopefully we'll get another good look at them! Friday night Evan and I went to the Giants vs. Rockies game.  My friend Sarah gave us her bleacher seats, so we got to sit in the outfield which was a fun change from our usual seats.  Rockies hit a home run just a couple of rows below us, and after the chaos of drunk people fighting over the ball, they ended up throwing it back to the field anyway which is the common practice when the opposing team hits a...

Let's start this post off with a little pregnancy humor.  My friend Sarah sent this to me. Phew it's a hot one today!  Well, it's hot for the bay area.  We got into the 80's, which means cool showers and putting the fan on high because we don't have very much air flow in the apartment.  I got chores out of the way early, so I was able to relax this afternoon before my doctors appointment. I'm seeing the doctor every other week now to keep a close eye on what's going on.  Last week I took the glucose test to check for gestational diabetes, so was looking forward to getting those results today.  The appointment started off well when I learned that I had only gained two pounds since the last appointment ... it's the tiny victories keep me optimistic among the discomfort of carrying twins.  I had to wait a while in the room before the doctor came in, so I was reading through one of the parenting magazines.  I got to a page that talked...

Oops, it's been a while since I have written.  Evan and I took a tour of our hospital, which we are both glad we did.  It was comforting to see the rooms and the floor that I will be giving birth on.  The hospital is in Berkeley and has 4 different gardens that I can walk around in early in the labor process.  Those will also be nice for Evan to get some fresh air and any visitors we have. We also had another ultrasound and a doctors appointment.  This was the first ultrasound that Evan could come to, but I was pretty bummed because the babies were both facing back towards my spine and they weren't moving as much as the first time.  We did not get a good view of their profiles or faces, although you could see their little arms and legs kicking for space.  They were situated with both of their heads together on my right side and feet over to the left.  Baby boy is 1.9 pounds and baby girl is 1.8 pounds.  Their organs all are looking good, we...

In my head, August 16th is the babies due date.  They will induce me 2 weeks before that, so in reality, August 1st-ish is looking like the end of the road for this pregnancy.  It is almost misleading to tell a woman pregnant with twins what her due date is though, because as I read more about giving birth to multiples, the babies can come anytime from week 26-40.  I'm in week 23 right now, so to think that it is possible that the little ones might join us in just 3 short weeks... well that makes me sweat and begin to hyperventilate... So I'll stop thinking that they'll be extremely premature.  Instead, I am moving into action mode.  Today I signed Evan and I up for the group Twins By The Bay.  It's a twins group that I was recommended to by a woman in the store once (because random people give me advice now).  I checked it out and it seems to be a great group to join.  Members all have, or are expecting twins.  They go on outings together,...

April has been an exceptionally trying month for me, which you can tell from me putting aside the things I "like" to do for the things I "have" to do.  I have missed blogging and keeping you all updated on our lives. At the end of March, I took an exam that would decide whether or not I would graduate in June.  I finally got the results back last week, and I passed!  I passed with 13 points higher than the national average, so I was proud of that and felt a huge relief.  I have also had several large projects due in April, they're not all complete yet, but close.  All will be smooth sailing once April is over... Until August of course. On April 12th, Evan and I made the 8 hour roadtrip down to San Diego for our first baby shower!  The drive actually was not bad until we reached the northern side of the San Diego area, around Oceanside and Camp Pendelton.  Then we hit traffic, which was torture considering I knew how close we were to getting to our ...
